This lockdown has taught us many things. We have learned about living with limitations without sacrificing much when it is concerning your favourite food. One of the unhealthiest junk foods, according to me, has to be Pizza but the irony is that we could not learn to live without it. At the same time Pizza is one of favourite snacks items. There is a saying, ‘if there is a will there is a way’. So I tried to make this pizza a healthy one cutting the possible unhealthy parts like Maida base, less use of Masalas.
Here goes the recipe:
1. Pizza Base (you can purchase from market or make at home)
2. For toppings: Onions, Capsicum, Olives, Tomato, Baby corn, and Jalapenos (all chopped)
3. Readymade pizza sauce
4. Mozzarella cheese or normal cheese
5. Chilli Flakes ½ tsp
6. Mixed herbs ½ tsp (optional)
> Take an Atta pizza base and spread 4 to 5 tsp of pizza sauce uniformly.
> Further, top with chopped onion, capsicum, olives, tomato, baby corn and jalapenos
> Now spread 1 cup mozzarella cheese or normal cheese evenly. More the cheese better the taste.
> Now sprinkle ½ tsp chilli flakes and ½ tsp mixed herbs (optional)
> Now take a non-stick frying pan and preheat it for 1 to 2 min with low flame.
> Now place the pizza base (just prepared) gently on the preheated frying pan
> Now cover with a metal lid and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes or till the cheese melts completely.
> Finally, slice the Tawa pizza and serve hot along with your choice of sauce and soft drinks
